Math 10 Preparation
|
This course is designed for students whose grade nine background is not adequate for Applied or Pure Mathematics 10.
Students taking Mathematics Preparation 10 will study number systems, powers and exponents. the uses of graphing calculators, rational and real numbers, rates, ratios, percent and preparation, patterns, problem solving, polynomials, linear equations and inequalities, perimeter, areas and volume, basic trigonometry, graphing, and coordinate geometry.

Applied Mathematics |
Applied Mathematics 10-20-30 is a mathematics program with a numerical and geometrical focus. Emphasis is placed on applications of mathematics.
Students taking Applied Mathematics 10 will study measurement, number patterns and tables, relations and functions, statistical sampling, line segments, linear functions and trigonometry.

Pure Mathematics |
Pure Mathematics 10-20-30 is a mathematics program with an algebraic and graphical focus.
Students taking Pure Mathematics 10 will study numbers, number patterns and tables, polynomials, rational expressions and equations, relations and functions, geometry of straight lines, measurement, trigonometry, statistical sampling and expected values. |
Mathematics 14/24 |
Mathematics 14/24 is designed for students whose needs, interests and abilities focus on basic mathematical understanding. The emphasis is on the math practical life skills.
Program emphases in Mathematics 14 will be problem solving, use of technology, computation, mental math, estimation, ratio and proportion, statistics and probability, geometry, measurement, algebra and graphing |
Mathematics 31 |
Mathematics 31 provides an introductory foundation to the calculus and higher levels of mathematics.
Designed for students who are planning careers in engineering, sciences, mathematics or the business world, students intent on taking this program should have successfully completed Pure Mathematics 30. |
