Curriculum

Science 14/24
General science program that helps students better understand and apply fundamental concepts and skills common to biology, chemistry, physics and environmental science. This program will allow students to meet the credit requirements for a high school diploma.

Science 10
An integrated academic course that helps students better understand and apply fundamental concepts and skills common to biology, chemistry, physics and the Earth sciences. This course is a prerequisite for the 20-level science courses.

Science 20/30
Successful completion of Science 10 is a prerequisite for entrance into this program. This is an integrated academic science program that helps students better understand and apply fundamental concepts and skills common to biology, chemistry, physics and the Earth sciences. This program is intended for non-science related post-secondary entrance into college or university.

Forensic Science 25
This is a general interest course open to all students. Students examine how science principles are applied to the solving of crimes.

Biology 20/30
Biology is the study of life and living systems from the molecular level to the biosphere. Through the study of biology, learners are given an opportunity to explore and understand the natural world and to become aware of the profound influence of biology in their lives. Successful completion of Science 10 and Biology 20 with marks higher than 65% are recommended for continued and successful advancement through this program.

Chemistry 20/30
Chemistry deals with the composition, structure and properties of substances and of the transformations that they undergo. Successful completion of Science 10 and Chemistry 20 with marks higher than 65% are recommended for continued and successful advancement through this program.

Physics 20/30
Physics deals with matter and energy and their interactions in the fields of mechanics, acoustics, optics heat electricity, magnetism, radiation, atomic structure and nuclear phenomena. Successful completion of Science 10 and Physics 20 with marks higher than 65% are recommended for continued and successful advancement through this program.

Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement students are embedded in regular Biology, Chemistry, and Physics classes.  Enrichment opportunities are offered in class and in tutorial sessions.
